Global Benefits

Our global remuneration framework ensures that we align to local pay, employment conditions and laws. All our roles are benchmarked against the local market to ensure we offer competitive employment conditions that are appropriate to our sector. Depending on where the role is based, we also offer additional financial benefits which can be seen in the Role Purpose documents for each role.

We offer our staff at least 14 weeks’ primary carers leave without any qualifying period. We also offer at least 4 weeks’ secondary carers leave without any qualifying period. We value the importance of supporting all types of parents in the workplace.

Our recruitment process

We appreciate the time and effort everyone takes to apply for a job with The Foundation, that’s why we are committed to ensuring your candidate experience is memorable. We understand that applying for a job comes with a lot of excitement and a lot of unknowns. We want to be transparent about our recruitment and interviewing practices, so you feel confident and prepared. Here is what to expect during the recruitment process:

Before applying to one of our positions, we encourage you to do your research and to read the relevant role purpose. This will enable you to assess whether your skills and experience are a match for what we are looking for.  If our position looks like a great match for you, then tell us!  We really love to read a good letter of application that tells us a bit more about you, and do not forget to attach your resume too.

One of our Talent Acquisition specialists may get in touch for a chat about the role, find out more about your experience, and answer any questions you may have. 

There is no need to feel nervous about this part, its really just a “get to know you session” and it really helps us match you for roles now and in the future.

If you are short-listed, we will ask you to attend an interview, either in person or via video conference (we use Microsoft Teams).  Our interview panels usually consist of 2-3 people and are a great opportunity for you to meet with some of your potential colleagues. 
 
We know that interviews can be daunting, but believe us we are equally as nervous, as we know you need to like us too.  
 
Depending on the role, you may have two or more interviews. Typically, our interviews include a combination of competency-based and technical questions. This way, we can understand how you like to work and see your experience against our selection criteria. 
 
For roles that have a focus on working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples or programs, we will have at least one Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person on the panel. 

For some roles, you may be asked to undertake a further assessment. Most can be completed online, and they help us understand your work preferences, skills, and ability. For roles that involve external presentations or pitches, we may ask you to prepare a short presentation based on a particular scenario or case study.

We try and ensure that we communicate in a timely manner with everyone who has invested time in applying for a position with us. We make a point of acknowledging all applications and ensuring everyone knows the outcome of their application, whether successful or not.

Criminal record

A person’s criminal history does not automatically exclude them from working or volunteering with us, but any criminal convictions must be disclosed when you apply. All applicants will be required to undertake a criminal records check.

Working with children check

As an organisation committed to safeguarding children, youth and vulnerable people, all successful applicants for positions which have contact with children will be screened for their suitability. 

World-Check One

As an organisation focused on safeguarding our people, reputation and funds, all successful candidates will be have risk screening conducted World-Check One (WC1). 

The reason we collect this information is so we can run a risk screening in World-Check One (WC1) prior to agreements being signed. 

This check is a key safeguarding process aimed at protecting The Foundations people, reputation, and funds. 

This means all third parties engaged by The Foundation including implementing partners, corporate donors/partners, suppliers, individuals, contractors, sub-contractors, consultants etc. must undergo a World-Check One (WC1). 

Please note that WC1 risk screening does not include police/background checks.
