Den’s eye-opening fact on ageing and vision loss

For 45 years, Den lived alone—until cataracts stole her sight and independence. She struggled with daily tasks, relied on a walking stick, and even suffered a fall. But thanks to a free community eye screening, she received sight-saving surgery. When her patch was removed, her world lit up again. Now, at 82, Den is back to living life on her own terms—visiting friends, caring for her grandchildren, and embracing the future with clear vision.

Celebrating Fred’s birthday – his way

Fred never liked a fuss on his birthday. He didn’t want presents or celebrations – he just wanted to get on with the job of ending avoidable blindness. It was a powerful reminder that while Fred never asked for recognition, his impact continues to inspire people around the world.
