What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity where people come together to make a difference. It’s a day to counteract the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday by putting kindness first. This year, Giving Tuesday is happening on December 3, and it’s a chance to unite as Australians to help end avoidable blindness.
Every donation on Giving Tuesday will be doubled, making your support even more powerful. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to fund vital eye health services, surgeries, and training.

Globally, 9 out of 10 people who are blind or vision impaired don't need to be. Simple, proven treatments like cataract surgery or access to glasses could restore sight for millions. Yet, many people in low- and middle-income countries still lack access to these basic services.
For as little as $25, you can help provide life-changing eye care to someone in need. Since its inception, The Fred Hollows Foundation has restored sight to more than 3 million people, but there is still so much more to do.
In over 25 countries, we are making a difference, from rural villages to remote communities, and with your help, we can go even further.

Donating on Giving Tuesday means your generosity will be doubled, making twice the impact and helping us reach even more people living with preventable blindness.
Matched giving is a time-bound campaign, in which donations are matched dollar-for-dollar to a matched giving fund. A matched giving fund can be one donor or a group of donors whose donations are pooled together, who have offered to match any donations given in a specified time period, to the total value of a specified amount.
Funding to match donations has been provided by a group of generous anonymous donors who have agreed for their donations to The Fred Hollows Foundation to be used to match one-off donations up to the value of $50,000 or until 11:59 PM AEDT December 6, 2024. Once this target is reached or the time period is finished, the campaign will end. All donations above $2 are tax deductible and will be directed to where the need is greatest.
Your donation will support life-changing eye surgeries, training of local health workers, and the provision of eye care services in the 25 countries where we operate. Your gift will go directly to those who need it most.
