Making a one-off donation
Many people stay needlessly blind because they live in poverty. In developing countries, blindness denies people education, independence and the ability to work – things which can break the poverty cycle. You can make a donation at any time to help us restore sight and end avoidable blindness.
Become a Visionary regular monthly donor
Monthly donations are the most reliable source of income - they mean we can worry less about raising funds and focus more on delivering long-term projects. It means we can invest in innovation and technology that will continue to make eye care services more affordable and available to people living in the most remote parts of the world.
Fundraising for The Fred Hollows Foundation
The hard work of our fundraisers means an incredible amount to The Foundation. This kind of support is invaluable and goes a long way towards ending avoidable blindness.
Whether it’s taking part in Fred’s Big Run, The Sydney Harbour Hike or creating your fundraising event, there are many ways to help. You can even get your work or school involved!
Donations in lieu of a gift for your birthday or anniversary
Whether it's in memory of a loved one or celebrating your special day; giving the gift of sight by fundraising for The Fred Hollows Foundation will change lives. You can easily set up your own fundraising page to collect donations here.
Honouring a loved one through a gift
Choosing to honour your loved one with a gift in memory is a very kind gesture. This simple act ensures that their memory lives on and leaves a lasting impact – by restoring sight to needlessly blind people around the world. There are many ways you can choose to honour your loved one and support The Fred Hollows Foundation.
Gifts in Wills
A gift in your Will is a really special way to continue your support. By leaving a gift to The Fred Hollows Foundation in your Will, you will train the next generation of eye surgeons and help transform the lives of many millions of people living with avoidable blindness. Your gift means you’ll always be part of something exceptional and it’s something that you and your loved ones can be proud of together. Importantly, restoring sight also has economic benefits. Every $1 invested in cataract treatment equals a $US20 economic return, according to a recent study undertaken by us and the Victoria University Institute of Strategic Economic Studies.
The Fred Hollows Foundation has three key areas – general projects, international projects and Indigenous Australia. Including a general gift is most efficient for The Foundation, as we can direct your gift towards the people and communities who need your help the most at that time. But we understand that people have a particular interest in certain regions or topics in which case please feel free to reach out to us on 1800 526 413 or email bequest@hollows.org.
