Humanity Award – Category One
The Humanity Award recognises Year 6 students who display kindness, integrity, and compassion in their everyday lives. Since its inception in 2012, the award has recognised over 2,000 students in Australia and Hong Kong. Each year, through the Humanity Award, we select a number of Junior Ambassadors. Specsavers will generously donate $40,000 on behalf of the Junior Ambassadors to help The Fred Hollows Foundation continue its work to end avoidable blindness globally.

Fred Award – Category Two
The Fred Award honours everyday adults over the age of 18 who demonstrate care for others in a practical, generous, and no-nonsense way, just like Fred did. Launched in 2021 as an extension of the Humanity Award, the Fred Award recognises one outstanding individual each year with the title of Humanitarian of the Year.

Nominations
We are excited to announce that nominations for both the Fred and Humanity Awards will open on Fred’s birthday, Wednesday 9th April 2025, and will close on Friday 18th July 2025. We encourage all teachers, parents, students, and members of the community to get involved and nominate someone who embodies the spirit of these awards. You can nominate:
